Why Willy Shoals? Willy is a shortening of my name “Wilson”. Then Shoals to describe the natural bridge that ebbs and flows connecting my multidisciplinary art practice and style. Where I hope everything feels like a treasure. A place to share my delight in mixing colors, materials, patterns and textures. Inspired by my love for things unearthed by the wind and sea, light dancing on water, and my dear collections of places and people.
Wilson Minnows was raised in Oakland, California. In 2014 she received her BFA in drawing and painting from the Oregon College of Art and Craft in Portland, Oregon. Her artwork has continually focused on portraiture, personal relationships and collections.
